4Cosmic Destruction... literally!Jan 10, 2011
By Angel R. Rivera Jesús "science geek"
Well, having played a few of the previous Ben 10 video games, including Ben 10 Alien Force and Ben 10 Alien Force: Vilgax Attacks, I have to say that Cosmic Destruction is the best one yet. Not everything is perfect of course, but it made several improvements in what I thought were the other games' flaws. First of all, this game is for 1 player only, which I thought was great. Alien Force gave you the option to have a friend helping you through a 2P coop mode, but instead of choosing from different characters from the show, both players had to play as Ben 10 which was both weird and confusing.

The graphics were greatly improved and the cut scenes are really nice. The way you transform into the different alien forms and use their special attacks was also improved, which was the best part for me. In Vilgax Attacks, you choose an alien form and transform, but if you want (or in this case need...) to change to another alien you have to change back to Ben, look for the other alien form and then transform again. Here, 4 different alien forms, which can be changed at any time, are assigned to the 4 directions in the control pad, so you just press and transform. Depending on the mission, the game recommends a group of aliens that would be most useful in that particular stage, which is very cool. Plus, it means that you're not stuck with the same aliens over and over. You also have the option of upgrading the aliens' attributes and special attacks.

I have to say though, the game is rather short and the parts where you go "ultimate" are brief. It is also a giant puzzle, so you have to be smart and patient and remember that it is rated E10+. I found that this game was mainly designed for fans, because if you're not familiar with the alien forms and what they can do you're gonna have a hard time figuring out what to do. You learn along the way though.

For the most part, I really enjoyed this game. Some people will find it better to rent this game because once you beat there's not much to do except beat it again, but I think you should at least give it a chance.
Pros: graphics improved, great story and amazing characters, controls are easier than ever
Cons: kind of short and somehow difficult for younger kids, becomes more difficult if not familiar with the show

3ben 10 ultimate alienDec 31, 2010

game is fun but my son and I enjoy playing with each other and this game like the last Ben 10, is for one player only.

5great game, but better for older kidsMay 02, 2012

This game is really fun and a good challenge. However, I bought it for my almost 6-year-old son, and it's a little too complicated for him. There's a lot of puzzle solving and very little fighting your way through levels like some of the other Ben 10 games. Also, it's only one player, so I can't join in and help him like the other games. He enjoys playing it, but I have to sit and help him fairly often, which mostly turns into me playing the game by myself! Overall a great game, but wait until your kid is 7 or 8. By then they should have no problems.

4Perfect for the Ben 10 EnthusiastJan 30, 2012
By Sailor Al
I bought this for my almost 7-year old son, who is absolutely crazy about everything Ben 10. That is for whom this game is made, not hard core gamers. (This is the review of the Wii version)

That being said, it is a surprisingly solid gamer. I found the game the best of the Ben 10 Adventure games. A few of the puzzles, like some of the time trials, took some practice even for me to execute, and are to hard for him even now, and the same with some of the boss levels - but most of it was within his reach. He absolutely adores the game.

Overall, it is the best - it has the best 3-D graphics (nice texture and overall atmosphere), some decent logic puzzles (nothing genuinely challenging, but a few that will take some trial and error), nice variation in locales and challenges (nothing as exciting as the exotic home world planets of Vilgax Attacks! but better than the other Ben 10 games), and general ability to improve characters and choose the aliens you wanted to do battle with, it it pretty solid. The cut scenes weren't bad, but the story didn't quite resonate 100% with me, and I think characters like Will Harangue don't make as much sense to the youngest Ben 10 fans. So, for overall story sense, I think it was a little weak although they did try.

But those are nits. With lots of Ultimate Alien transformations, a combat system that a 6-year old can master, lots of special alien powers, 8 different levels this is a great Ben 10 game with lots of game time. He has enjoyed replaying it too over and over, even after we finished it the first time, because he likes fighting as an Ultimate Alien so much.

So, regardless of the gaming pros and cons - and this was better than the others, I enjoyed it the most by far - the general delight of being able to control a Ben 10 Ultimate Alien will make your little Ben 10 fanatic's day. Sure did with mine.

For that, I could give it 5-stars.
