5The perfect smock for paintingNov 14, 2007
By Diane
I purchased this smock for my three year old. She loves the color of it and asks to wear it when she wants to paint. It is very easy to put on and take off and it has enough growing room so that she will get plenty of years use out of it. The sleeves have elastic around them, and they stay put when pushed up. It simply ties in the back. I would recommend this particular smock to toddlers. It is a must have for any toddler who likes to paint.

4Great smock!Aug 02, 2009
By Fiona Bessey-Bushnell "tnsconz"
I bought 2 of these smocks about a year ago. We only use them for messy crafts, but they have held up well, wash after wash. I do wish they had a velcro neck closure, as my older son says the tie is a little itchy. Excellent long sleeved coverage, which can be difficult to find. I bought these when my oldest was about 2 1/2. Now that he is 3 1/2, I am not sure how much longer he will be wearing it - and he is of average weight and height, so I think this runs small. I am not sure it would go up to Age 5 for most kids as the manufacturer states.

2Great fabric, too bad it fell apart!Nov 09, 2010
By BinahYeteirah
I bought three of these in a couple different patterns for my children to use as bibs. Bumkins also makes sleeved bibs in the same material, so I thought they'd be perfect for my kids who are still messy eaters, yet too big for the sleeved bibs.

When I received them, I noticed some loose stitching around the binding and ties, but I figured they would be fine. Wrong. The printed fabric is really great, light and comfortable, but the white binding and ties started to fray and tear within the first 4 months of use. By the time they were 6 months old, each had lost at least one tie and they looked terrible. Now they are a year old, but I am still trying to use them by holding them on my kids with safety pins. The pockets are detaching from the main body of the bib, despite the fact that we have never used the pockets to hold anything.

I hope to throw these out soon. I'd never have purchased them had I realized the construction was so poor.

4Using it as a bibMar 10, 2008
By Eva's mom
I really like this art smock. I'm using it as a bib for my 2 year old, who sure makes a mess. I like that is it wipes clean, washes nicely, and is waterproof. This does run small. I think it would work for 18 months to around 3 1/2 years old. The only negative is that the neck is too wide and it ties in the back. I wish that the neck wasn't so wide, so collars would stay clean. It would be nice if it had velcro closure.

5Best bib for protecting long sleeves or good clothesDec 20, 2009
By Sarah Green
We've tried a LOT of bibs - and Bumkin bibs are the best! It is truly waterproof, yet it can be washed in the washer (yay!). This one in particular is a favorite because the long sleeves and generous length are prefect for protecting long sleeve clothes (or nice dresses). This also has a tie at the neck (instead of the velcro that the short sleeve version has) which ensures that it doesn't snag sweaters/dresses and if you tie a double know its a little more difficult for tots to take off mid-meal. We have two for each child and love them!
