Outstanding CD for traditional Greek music lovers!Aug 10, 1998
This CD is the genuine article. If you are looking for REAL Greek folk music, look no farther.This was recorded by the famous Dora Stratou and has been computer-reconstructed from the original masters. The music shows the passion that is missing from many contemporary recordings of traditional Greek folk music.

OPA!! Boy was I astonished to find this CD! My grandfather, who emmigrated from Greece in the 1910's, owned this record which was produced in the 1950s. I recently rediscoverd this album in the basement play it frequently. This was recorded when each part of the country still maintained regional influences, before the hemogenization of Greek popular musical styles. Great musical quality, authentic. A must have.

This is the best album that I have purchased commercially. This album has all the best music from throughout Hellas. The only thing this album is missing is a good Pentazalis. If you're only going to buy one album, this should be it.

I would strongly encourage you to buy this excellent recording of traditional Greek music. The music choices represent the rich variety of traditional Greek music. You will want to listen to these beautiful songs over and over again.
