Stayin' true to the fruitMay 23, 2008
By Matthew Gunia
I must admit that, being the ripe old age of 31 and part-time middle-school teacher, I didn't quite understand the kids' fascination with Izze drinks. They bright juice color and brighter, young-looking packaging caused me to theorize that these drinks were just the same-old stuff with a clever marketing angle.
Then I tried one.
The quality of the product is certainly outstanding. Pomegranate is a trendy flavor these days, yet many of the pomegranate-flavored products on the market don't adequately reflect the fruit's unique flavor. Izze, as it says on the can, "stays true to the fruit" and it is evident in the fact that their pomegranate drink actually tastes like pomegranate. The flavor is full, yet not overpowering, and the flavor tends to stay in your mouth for some time. Although the product is made with carbonated water, there is certainly no "coca-cola" quality to it. There is not excessive carbonation, but rather the light carbonation of the water tends to enhance the flavor of the juice itself--yet another way in which Izze stays true to the fruit.
It appears as if the middle-schoolers have a more refined taste than I gave them credit for. Izze Pomegranate drink is excellent. I highly recommend this product and will be sure to keep it around the house, myself.

Not too Sweet, Not too Tart--Izze is Just Right!Apr 26, 2008

"PARK EDGE BOOKS"
Despite the fact that Izze Sparkling Pomegranate juice beverage has 19g of sugar, it is not too sweet. In fact, it has a very refreshing fruity taste, which is enhanced by the light carbonation.
It's made from concentrates of juices, including apple, white grape, pineapple, lemon, cranberry and pomegranate. The rest of the mix is comprised of sparkling water, fruit & vegetable coloring, and added vitamins like C & B6 (very small amounts).
Even though it contains lemon and cranberrry juice concentrates, it isn't too tart.
All in all, it's a nice alternative to soda. And here's a little extra something I experimented with: mixed with a little wine (I used Sangria) it made a great wine cooler! ;)
It's also low sodium and has just 80 calories per 8.4 fl. oz. All this and the fact that the Izze company does philanthropic/educational work for needy kids, and you've got a winning product.

Refreshing, unusual, and naturalMay 14, 2008
By Jennifer Ray
Until recently, I had never heard of the brand `Izze', much less their line of Sparkling Juice beverages. When Amazon Vine posted a request to review them, however, my interest was most certainly piqued, being a sucker for anything fruit-flavored. My only dilemma revolved around what flavor to order. They all look so interesting to me, but I deliberated between the three flavors I found most intriguing: Blackberry, Pomegranate, and Clementine.
I finally decided on the Clementine. When a case of twenty-four arrived at my office, I had plenty to share with a couple of friends, and after chilling a few cans, we enjoyed our first taste of this unusual libation together.
We all enjoyed it, although I think I liked it more than the other two. However, I've been to wine tastings with this pair of friends, and I notice they don't usually care for sparkling wine either, which leaves me to wonder if it was the effervescence that they didn't like rather than the flavor. As for me, I adore sparkling beverages, so this is right up my alley.
The Clementine flavor tastes just like the fruit, although I admit I had expected a slightly sweeter drink than the Izze turned out to be. The label on the can states it is "naturally flavored", and that is exactly what I got. My belief that it would be sweeter is probably borne of the fact that most commercial beverages do have more sugar added. Because of this, the slightly tart taste was a bit startling, but after the first few sips I truly appreciated the freshness of it.
In fact, I enjoyed the Clementine flavor so much that I went looking for the Izze beverages in the local stores, and succeeded in finding both of the other flavors I wanted to try: Pomegranate and Blackberry. Of all of them, I think the Blackberry is probably my favorite, although the Clementine is a close second. I think the Blackberry wins by a nose strictly because it is such an uncommon flavor for a beverage, and that appeals to me as much as the flavor itself does. It helps that I adore blackberries, though.
The Pomegranate was my least favorite of the three, and I don't believe I'll buy it again, although I did drink all four cans in the pack that I purchased. The flavor was slightly bitter, although it does grow on you after a few swallows. But once again, it does taste very close to eating the pomegranate fruit.
I definitely recommend the Izze drinks. I will most certainly be purchasing both the Clementine and Blackberry flavors in the future.

IZZE is the best alternative to HFCS laden soft drinksApr 26, 2008
Having become tired of the High Fructose Corn Syrup laden soft drinks and "fruit" drinks that permeate the drink market in the US, not to mention the "energy" drinks that are full of chemical substitutes for all the badness you can find in junk food, I started a search for the perfect alternative.
I have found that perfect alternative: IZZE Sparkling Juice! Each flavor of IZZE (Blackberry is by far my favorite, but they also offer Pomegranate, Apple, Grapefruit, and Clementine) is nothing more than 70% real fruit juice and 30% sparkling water - the perfect combination! And each can or bottle equals a serving of fruit.
On a hot day, I have found an IZZE to be a more refreshing salvation than any other drink out there.
One "negative comment": I have been drinking IZZE out of a glass bottle for a few years now, and they seem to be disappearing in favor of the canned version - though the canned version is fine, it lacks the experience that only an ice-cold GLASS bottle can brink to any drink.

Light, Crisp, Refreshing. Tasty!Jul 18, 2008
By Donald P. Martin Jr.
I received my case of Izze Grapefruit Sparkling Juice on a Tuesday, and it was gone by Friday. My wife and I sampled one can together, and immediately put the whole case in the fridge, pushing aside other juice beverages to make room. For the next two and a half days, my wife and I eye-balled each other every time we went to the fridge, keeping tabs on how many cans were left. And on Saturday, the day after the last can was gone, we felt like Izze addicts, jonesing for another can. Just one more...
If you are a Fresca fan, you will more than likely love this beverage. It has a snappy, zingy body, light and refreshing, perfect with ice. This would make an outstanding summer drink in a tall glass with ice, out on the deck, reading a book in the sun. I dare say it wouldn't be a bad mixer, either, if you wanted to spike it ;^)
The nutritional content of the drink is what you make of it. With 70% juice and 30% sparkling water, it's 8.4 ounces are going to have some calories (90 in a can). It's also going to have vitamin c and niacin. I've noticed some reviewers say that you'd be better off taking a multivitamin, but if you're drinking it strictly to get vitamins, I think I'd have to look at you with my head tilted slightly to one side and make a Scooby-Doo noise at you. :^) No one should get all of their daily recommended vitamins from a drink like this; what Izze is going to do for you is be a tasty, refreshing drink that's a much, much better option for a health-conscious person than a diet soda or most other drinks that you enjoy as a treat.
If you're ever in a convenience store and notice an Izze drink in the cooler door, pick one up and try it. Don't buy a case because it might not be your thing... but do try it. I loved the Grapefruit version, and I will certainly try the other flavors as well.
