 Music is too loud and doesn't play long enough - cheapDec 09, 2009

I'm surprised that people have rated this mobile so high - I guess people aren't that picky.
The only good thing about this mobile is that it matches the rest of the Jungle Tales set.
As for the bad things
- It doesn't play nearly long enough
- Winding it is very LOUD
- The music is very LOUD
- The music sounds like a cheap music box
- Did I mention it doesn't play long enough?
In my world the purpose of the mobile is to entertain the child as well as sooth it to sleep with the music. Well with this one you wind it up and hope that the LOUD winding doesn't startle the baby.
Then you let it play and it's a LOUD and cheap sound.
And as I said it only plays for a minute or 2. I don't know about your baby but my baby isn't going to be soothed to sleep by something so short.
Why it has an on and off switch I have no idea.
We'll be buying a new mobile.
Thanks for reading. I would look else where unless you just want to have the matching mobile and aren't worried about the music part.

I read the reviews before I got this and although some reviews said it's loud winding it up and doesn't play for long I still thought it was super cute and bought it anyway to go with my set. We are not due until July but my husband and I put this together anyway right away just to see how it would work because of all the reviews I read on it. In our opinion it's a great mobile. SUPER cute - the animals are adorable and yes it does only play for 3 minutes but to me that's not a big deal. Also, I didn't think it was loud at all when we were winding it up. I would recommend this mobile to anyone!

The mobile is a good buy because it cost less at Amazon than at other stores. It is very easy to put together and easy to use. The little animals are very cute and it goes on the crib secure. I like this product and would recommend others to buy.

I thought this mobile was adorable and ordered it. We got it home before our baby was born and tried it and it was wonderful. Though after about 1 month of using it (using it a few times a day over our changing table), the music box started going out and playing off key. We have been using it with it's off-key melody for the past 2 months and now it makes this loud grinding noise. I am going to throw it out and buy a lower end mobile for $20 from a department store and hopefully have better success. I hope this was just a defective one and that this isn't the experience for others. Unfortunately the one I got was junk!

We received this for a baby shower as it went with the theme of the baby room. It was easy to assemble, cute, but the sound was CHEAP and DISTORTED! Huge disappointment! We thought this was just ours, but after reading other reviews of the cheap sound and how it is not soothing for the baby due to the loud distortion, we can say without a doubt, DO NOT BUY THIS....
