Revel all year round in the glorious comfort of a unique triple-layer featherbed that cradles and insulates the body, and relieves its pressure points. Chamonix's Dual Season Featherbed is fully reversible, with a quilted white goose down chamber on one side for warmth and comfort in the Fall and Winter, and a quilted, blowable Tencel chamber on the other side for breathability and moisture wicking in Spring and Summer. Contrast piping gives an immediate visual cue indicating seasonal reversibility, so you'll always know which side is up. The cushiony chamber on the cold-weather side is filled with 16 total ounces of white goose down, and the warm-weather side is filled with 28 ounces of blowable Tencel. Filled in the supportive core chamber with a 16-pound blend of 40 percent polyester and 60 percent white goose down and feather, the featherbed enables healthy neck, spine, and hip alignment. Boasting a premium fill power of 650 in the cold-weather down chamber, the featherbed provides a real down value. Fill power indicates how many cubic inches of space an ounce of down will occupy, and anything at the 600 level is considered in the industry to be excellent. The higher the fill power, the larger and stronger the clusters of down. Large clusters provide superior insulation, breathe better, and last much longer than smaller, fragile down clusters used in lower quality bedding. And fret not about any stray feathers poking through this topper. The Chamonix featherbed's patented SoftPLUS dual-layer system provides a barrier to keep them in. Dual Season Featherbed Diagram For superior softness, the featherbed's Tencel cotton outer shell boasts a 300 thread count in a dobby weave. Available in Full, Queen, King, and California King, the queen-sized Chamonix Dual Season featherbed measures 60 by 80 inches. It is safe to spot clean at home or to dry clean. Fabric Definition Tencel Cotton: Far stronger than cotton alone, Tencel is durable, comfortable, wrinkle-resistant, machine washable, has little elasticity, and is very soft. In addition, it has good moisture absorption, and good static- and heat-resistance. Tencel Cotton fabric is a blend of the cotton fiber with the trademarked, man-made Tencel fiber, uniting the good qualities of each. Like rayon, Tencel is made from cellulose derived naturally from dissolved wood pulp. Unlike rayon, Tencel is processed without producing large amounts of sulfurous waste, sometimes leading it to be labeled "low impact". Tencel producers use a closed-loop chemical process in which its solvent can be filtered and reused. Tencel fibers can be used alone or blended with cotton, flax, polyester, wool, and spandex. Tencel fibers can be knitted or woven into a wide range of fabrics, including crepes, chambrays, poplins, and twills. Tencel fibers produce "fibrillation," the forming of tiny hairs, which can give some Tencel fabrics a soft, peach-fuzz texture. | | Features: | |

Nice and fluffy, but a couple of things you should knowMar 14, 2009
By Sunnspot This Featherbed is nice and fluffy, but there are a couple of things I did not realize when I purchased it that I wish I had known. So I will enlighten future shoppers: It is NOT baffle boxed. This means that the materials can move all over and it is more difficult to "refluff" them back into place. Also it is not strictly feather, there is also fiberfill mixed in. I bought it because it was the thickest one listed. It lives up to that. It still feels nice and provides cushion to pressure points, it is just a bit more maintenance than one that is baffle boxed. It is a good buy, pricewise, I suspect to get this thickness with baffling, and 100% feather would probably cost a couple hundred more. Maybe I should have given it 4 stars, but I can't seem to change it now. Sweet Dreams!

Like Sleeping on a Cloud!Jan 15, 2008

I ordered this product and got it on time. It is about 5 inches thick, is fluffy and made of nice material. Although there is no way to attach this to your mattress, so far that has not been a problem. Probably because the featherbed weighs 31lbs and stays in place. I have not had any feathers poking me as the down is in the top chamber, and not feathers. It was absolutely heavenly to sleep on and most of my circulation problems have not returned. I toss and turn a lot at night, and turning used to be difficult. Now it is very easy and comfortable to move around.
I would highly recommend this bed to anyone. Keep in mind that because of the thickness that makes this so comfortable, you will probably have to use only sheets that have a bottom sheet that is extra deep to accommodate the thickness.

Finally, A Featherbed That Does Not PokeNov 13, 2007
By Stefan A. Hunter
""Picky Sleeper""
I just got my queen size reversible featherbed last week - it has been amazing. Now I love feather beds ever since I traveled to Germany two years ago - but I have always had occasional feathers poke through. I can report back that one week later it has not poked me and it feels amazing. The site mentions lots of techy stuff - but I know form some shirts I have bought that I love Tencel fabrics. I also like the fact that I have the worm down side now in the winter and when it gets warmer in the summer I can flip it to the cool Tencel side.
My wife agrees that this feather bed has been a great buy and I we recommend it whether you have an older mattress or a brand new one!
Cheers, Stef

Wonderful cloudMay 02, 2008
By A. Adams Our 16-year-old pillowtop mattress was getting less comfortable. When I read the reviews about all the problems with new mattresses, I decided to try this instead. I put it over the mattress, under the mattress pad. Voila---the cloudlike quality of our mattress is restored! I just shake it when I change the sheets--no other care needed. I like the 2 sides---one to use in warmer weather and one for cooler weather. I had read some reviews of down featherbeds that said they were too warm in summer, so I was happy to find this one. Very comfortable!

UNREAL!!!Jun 27, 2009
By Jonny FYI- I never really write reviews. However, I just wanted to tell my story. Basically to make a long story short my wife and me bought a bed. The bed for some reason gave me serious back pain. So we got one of those memory foam mattress (thick as we could) and that helped me but gave my wife back problems. We couldn't afford to run out and buy a brand new bed cause we had a brand new bed already. What we did do for the next 5 months or so, we slept in our guest bed. Then doing research I discovered this feather bed matress pad...... It's AWESOME! No more back pain for me or my wife, it's as they say "like sleeping on a cloud". We both sleep so well every night. If your looking for a cheap solution to buying a new bed get this. The feathers do bunch up "SOME" not a lot. Not even close to enough to list as a con becuase they dont' all bunch up. We are just so happy we got this featherbed. I've reccomended it already to 2 people I know that needed new beds and I'm now giving my glowing recommendation to you. Get this matress you will be so glad you did....
